Denis Doucet clarinet
Native of Trois-Rivières in La Mauricie. Denis holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the Faculté de Musique of the University of Montréal.
For four years in a row, he is invited by the Société des Concerts Alternatifs du Québec to give contemporary musical recitals under the sponsorship of the Société Radio-Canada.
All along his professional career, he is led to work within many musical ensembles sharing a variety of musical styles.
From 1988 to 1990, he performed in Montreal and Toronto for a musical theater project with the École Nationale de Théâtre du Canada.
As chamber music artist, he namely worked with the « Ville-Marie » lyric trio and also with guitarist Jean-François Dubuc.
He presently forms the duo « Contra-Danza » with classical guitarist Sébastien Deshaies.
Since 1989, he has been a member of the Longueuil symphony orchestra and in the summer of 2002 he becomes a member of the Orchestre du Festival « Mozart » in Lachine.
He has made a number of recordings, including one within an alternative-rock group formation showing in this adventure new possibilities for the clarinet.
In addition to being a polyvalent artist, he also takes pleasure in piano improvisation.
Since 2004, he has been the musical director of the « Chant de l’heure » choral of Saint-Tite.
Besides, Denis teaches the clarinet at the department of music of the Cegep de Trois-Rivières.
He is also the show producer for the Salon de Concerts in Trois-Rivières.
