Duo Frank Sears & Sébastien Deshaies
( Frank Sears : diatonic accordeon, piano Sébastien Deshaies : guitar, violin) |

This duo amazes
us by its great musical interpretation being exclusively instrumental.
Both original and authentic, their music is a return to the
traditionnal roots like it has never been heard before. Formulas with
three or four musicians are available on request.
Music Styles : Traditional music of Quebec
and of the British Islands.
« You were immersed in this at a very young age
(…). Extremely seductive, we are left wanting more
(...). Yours is a very successful blend of the classical guitar realm
and an approach to Quebecois traditional music with Manouche style
inflections (...). Fascinating! »
Jean-Sébastien Bernatchez,
radio host, Chez nous le matin, broadcast on the French CBC
radio (95,1), Mauricie Centre-du-Québec region, on August
10, 2006.
«... Wow! What craftsmanship! What depth of
research! Plus, you chose to play some of my all-time favourites (...).
In addition, the arrangements (the harmonies in particular come to
mind) are sublime. I’m not one to use hollow epithets, but I
believe this album is destined to become a landmark in diatonic
accordion history, not unlike Philippe Bruneau’s 1973 Philo
recording; what is certain, is that from now on you, [Frank,] will be
considered a master (or at least a sure value) among your peers.
»
Marc Bolduc, radio host,
Tradosphère, CIBL 101,5, November 23rd, 2005
«the sounds they produce open up a musical realm far
more complex than one can grasp upon a first hearing (...)undeniably
one of the most promising of its category »
