Philippe BOURNIVAL

Biography

Native of Trois-Rivières, in April 2000, Philippe Bournival obtains a Études Supérieures 2 diploma at the Conservatoire de musique de Trois-Rivières, in the organ class of Raymond Perrin. He also obtains, in April 1999, a musical writing specialization at the same institution in Gilles Bellemare’s class.


As a solist, accompanist and improvisor, he manages an active career in many places in the Province of Quebec (Canada). In 2006, he was appointed Musical Director of the Shrine of Our Lady Of the Cape in Trois-Rivières. In 2007 and 2008, he performed with the Orchestre Symphonique de Trois-Rivières conducted by Jacques Lacombe. The first time he created Tryptique a composition of his own for organ, chamber orchestra, trumpet and English horn. In 2008, Bournival interpreted the Concerto in G Minor of Francis Poulenc for organ, chamber orchestra and kettledrums.


In March 2003, as part of Orgue et couleurs Festival activities, he went to Paris to give a solo performance at St-Germain-des-prés, and played two improvisation matches. Besides his three musical creations for theater, his compositions catalogue counts many musical pieces.
